This, as you say, should kick the radio stations in - then I would have completion with Windows proving the concept at least, moving on then to Linux (help!) with the goal to achieve the highest quality SQ (wanting the equivalent of a hi-end transport into a usb DAC).

Paulster - where exactly do you download the mp3 DLL from for Windows (in my case Windows 8)? Do you just download the file and add it in the same directory as all the other squeezelite files then you are done? You probably want the mp3 DLL for the radio depending on the stream you're trying to listen to. I would also like to know if TRIODE has some other parameters allowing you to tweak the sound further. The only thing that does not seem to be working is the radio - i.e. Squeezelite-win -o 7 or squeezelite-win -o 8 So the command I use to get the whole thing kicking in is:

Got it working!! Thanks paulster for your help AND Triode for an AMAZING development with far reaching implications on how excellent this could be! However I thought out of interest I would show you the multitude of Output devices I have to choose from!ġ0 - Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)ġ1 - Microphone (High Definition Audio Device)ġ2 - Line In (High Definition Audio Device)ġ4 - Speakers (HD Audio Headphone/Speakers)įrom the above the working ones are 7 - JPLAY Driver and 8 - TUSBAudio ASIO Driver! So wow - you can use Squeezelite on Windows with JPlay optimising the sound if you choose to do so! What does squeezelite-win -l give you? It sounds like it hasn't found your output device by default. As I say, the track plays OK and this only seems to happen on the first track played.Ī sincere thanks for all your efforts with squeezelite. I also noticed some slightly odd behaviour when I play the first trck after switch on using Orange squeeze as a controller, I select a track to play, hit the play button, the track start playing, all seems well except that the remaining time display shoots all the way to the right, indicating the track is at the end. I'm starting squeezelite from a command promt with the command: squeezelite-win.exe -n sqliteĪs I say I'm new to squeezelite so don't know if this is a bug or if I might be doing something wrong! If I click on OK both times then squeezelite starts and seems to work thereafter. Just been trying squeezelite for the first time on a Windows XP laptop with an external USB DAC.Įvery time I start squeezelite I get a dialog pop up which says: "The procedure entry point NtAlpcSendWaitReceivePort could not be located in dynamic link library ntdll.dll" This happens twice as soon as I try to run the program.

Previous code (early squeezelite and I presume ealier slim players) would wrap round and cause erroneous sample values. So if a specific sample when scaled by replaygain and volume would exceed the max positive or negative value for a sample, it will use the max value. Yes it does have a simplar feature to the squeezeplay code - this does not prevent clipping, but makes sure it clips rather than wraps round.

Not sure if the code was server side or player side.

I do recall some time back (years) slimdevices implemented some replaygain code to prevent clipping. I will try windows volume and LMS volume tonight when I'm home. Played with the physical volume and it was still present when dialed right down.

Playing through squeezeplay on same pc and device does not cause an error. I control volume on a physical dial on my speakers. The windows volume and LMS volumes were at 100%. Not sure what the particular tracks were tagged as in terms of replaygain.

I was playing flac with replaygain enabled.
